THE STORY OF PASHMEENA

The Pashm is the under-fleece of mountain goats which live in high altitude Himalayan region mainly in Tibetan Plateau on an average altitude of 4500 meters. The temperature in these areas goes down to  - 30 degrees because of which nature provides these mountain goats a fine layer of under-fleece to survive from the cold wind. The under-fleece of the mountain goats is harvested in June and grows back by October as the winter is approaching again.  No harm is done to the goats as the raw Pashm is combed out gently by the nomads.

An authentic Pashmeena is a fully handcrafted shawl where the raw material comes only from Tibetan Plateau and is hand crafted by men and women together in Kashmir Valley since recorded 500 years of history.

These shawls are woven on a traditional loom in Kashmir using had spun yarn.  The women and men contribute their skills to bring to you fine pashmeena.
